1. Sam Mustipher

The player that appears to get the fanbase the maddest at this point is Sam Mustipher. It is understandable that his last season was not great, but at the same time, he was a starter last season and now is working to be a backup.

Of course, because of the injury to Lucas Patrick, it will be Mustipher taking most of the snaps with the starters tonight. The reality is that even if you do not want Mustipher on the roster you have to see that he is going to be tough to replace.

Patrick is banged up, which is leaving Mustipher to start. More than that, Doug Kramer is now out for the year, so the competition for Mustipher is gone. The lineman the team signed is here because they need someone to snap the football when Mustipher takes a play, he is all that they have.

Could the Chicago Bears sign a player who gets cut in a few weeks and try to replace Mustipher? Sure, but for now, the role is his to lose. If he is working with the starters it will be interesting to see if he only plays a series or two.

If so, it speaks again to the coach’s acceptance that he will make the roster. Fans have to stop worrying about what they think and realize the coaches think differently, and Mustipher may be locking up his role tonight.
