2. Michael Schofield
We all knew that Teven Jenkins starting at right guard was a possible sign of things to come. If Jenkins did well, the team would wisely stick with him over veteran journeyman Michael Schofield.
Jenkins did just fine, but when you compare his performance to Schofield in week one, you have to give a strong edge to Jenkins. Schofield has been slow to get back into the swing of things and never established himself as a starter after being signed.
Then, in the second preseason game, he played through the end of the third quarter. Some of that is because Teven Jenkins wound up working beyond the first team, and got a couple of series with the backups as well.
Still, when Schofield was out there, the other names were Lachavious Simmons, Shon Coleman, Julien Davenport, and Dieter Eiselen. None of those players will make the 53-man roster.
It leaves a question of whether Schofield will too. If Jenkins is starting, it comes down to if they trust rookie Ja’Tyre Carter as a backup, or if they think they can cut Carter and he will clear waivers, reverting back to the practice squad.
Either way, Schofield went from start to roster bubble really quickly.
