3. Caleb Johnson

Sometimes, the bumps and bruises of the preseason make these decisions easier. While the injuries to Chris Finke and David Moore are unknown because they happened at practice, we saw Caleb Johnson limp off of the field with what looked like a knee injury.

He was immediately declared doubtful to return, and there has not been an update on his status. Still, this is another one that could be an easier decision because Johnson was unlikely to make the team, and if he cannot play next week, they should keep someone who may win a job next week over him.

It also will help get looks at two players who deserve it. Jack Sanborn and Demarquis Gates have both been behind Caleb Johnson in the linebacker rotation. If Johnson is gone, the team can get extended looks at arguably the two brightest spots of the preseason.

The Chicago Bears could also waive Johnson injured, and if he clears waivers he could end up on their season-ending IR. That would depend on the severity of the injury.
