Jaquan Brisker looks to be a stud for the Chicago Bears

Although he has dealt with some injuries, Jaquan Brisker has looked like an absolute stud when on the football field. I was not happy to see the team select another defensive back over wide receiver George Pickens. It isn’t that I didn’t like Brisker as a prospect, I just felt as though Pickens at that point in the draft made more sense. I’m going to be happy if Brisker makes me eat crow.

As of now, it appears both have been looking pretty stellar in the offseason. However, Brisker has been dealing with injuries and now had to have surgery on his thumb. The hope here is that he will be ready to go for Week 1 vs the 49ers. I don’t foresee the injury causing a problem with Brisker’s tackling, however, it could impact his ability to get his hands on the football. Takeaways were something I was hopeful for from Brisker this season and we may have to wait a bit to see that type of impact from him.

Either way, Brisker is making waves already as a rookie. He is going to be the starting strong safety across from Eddie Jackson and the hope is that he can create havoc while allowing Jackson the ability to freelance more. This is what we saw from Jackson and Adrian Amos back in 2018. Let’s hope that Jackson can duplicate those efforts.
