8. Larry Borom

The first two players we discussed may end up getting cut. That is not going to be the case for Larry Borom, but he may be a player with starting snaps on the line. Matt Eberflus noted that all starters will play, but some veterans will be pulled before most other starters.

That is likely talking about Riley Reiff, who has taken off the entire preseason but appears to be ahead of Borom for right tackle snaps. Reiff is a veteran and does not need the preseason snaps, but at the same time, if Borom shows more in the preseason they have to start him.

So, the Chicago Bears will give Reiff the nod but will pull him early. This will give Larry Borom a couple of drives to block for Justin Fields. If Fields, the offensive line, and Borom all look better out there than they did with Reiff, the team can move on from Reiff or keep him as a backup. Most of his contract was incentive-based, and he will not hit many if he cannot beat out Borom.

If Borom does not impress, he is not going to start week one. He has to have a great preseason performance to make this a discussion.
