2. Lamar Jackson

Lamar Jackson went from the joke about his name to a player who certainly could make the roster. The injury to Thomas Graham is making that an easier process as well. Without Graham, the team has gone back to Kindle Vildor as their fourth cornerback.

This has opened the fifth spot for Duke Shelley, Lamar Jackson, Greg Stroman, Davontae Harris, and Jaylon Jones. Of those names, Lamar Jackson is the leader in the clubhouse to make the roster.

Stroman has not practiced, and Jones is a rookie UDFA who has practice squad written all over him

Harris is mainly special teams, Shelley is mainly slot, so if they go outside depth it is Lamar Jackson. Of course, which one of those things they need may come down to which one plays better on Saturday.

Jackson has taken enough special teams snaps that he can claim that as well, but if Harris makes a big play, it could hurt Jacksons’ chances. The same can be said of Shelley and making a play in the slot.

Of course, all that said, if Jackson plays well and makes a play of his own, he will lock up the CB5 role and a roster spot.
