With the regular season right around the corner, there is only one more exhibition contest for players on the roster bubble to make their case for Chicago’s 53-man roster. The Chicago Bears have a chance to go undefeated in the preseason for the first time since 1994 if they can beat the Browns on Saturday.

Nevertheless, winning the game comes second to making an accurate assessment regarding who the franchise needs to keep around, as they will need to maximize the roster’s talent to accelerate their rebuild.

The Chicago Bears still have plenty of questions to answer vs the Browns

The Bears will use the game as a dress rehearsal for Week 1 contest against San Francisco, and the starters will be playing 25-30 snaps. While this comes with added risk in a game where the outcome does not matter, it will also be nice to see how well the first-team gels with one another, especially on the offensive side of the ball. With that said, they will not be at full strength for the game, as they will be extra cautious with those dealing with injuries.

The starters will demand most of the attention, but the game matters much more to those who will see the field in the second half, as they are the ones fighting for their careers. The Bears have a few spots up for grabs, and several players can cement their roster status with a strong showing in the contest. At the same time, these players are also auditioning for other teams if they do not make the cut in Chicago, and the final preseason game is their last opportunity to put their skills on display.
