Projecting the Chicago Bears final 53-man roster before cutdown day
The Chicago Bears final 53-man roster will look something like this
There are some names that I had a hard time leaving off this roster. Charles Snowden is one that I know many fans wanted to see make the final roster, but he’s just not consistent enough for me. Maybe he is back on the practice squad again. I already mentioned Micah Dew-Treadway and I see him as a practice squad guy. My 53-man roster does not include Duke Shelley, A.J. Thomas or Caleb Johnson — guys many fans are high on still.
Quarterbacks
- Justin Fields, QB1
- Trevor Siemian, QB2
Running Backs / Fullbacks
- David Montgomery, RB1
- Khalil Herbert, RB2
- Trestan Ebner, RB3
- Khari Blasingame, FB1
Wide Receivers
- Darnell Mooney, WR1
- Equanimeous St. Brown, WR2
- Velus Jones, Jr., WR3
- Byron Pringle, WR4
- Dante Pettis, WR5
- N’Keal Harry, WR6*
- Tajae Sharpe, WR7*
*N’Keal Harry will be kept and instantly placed on injured reserve designated to return. This will leave a spot for Tajae Sharpe as long as he can prove to be healthy. If the Chicago Bears don’t include Harry on the 53-man roster to start, then he won’t be able to return this season.

Cornerbacks
- Jaylon Johnson, CB1
- Kyler Gordon CB2
- Kindle Vildor, CB3
- Lamar Jackson, CB4*
- Tavon Young, CB5
*Thomas Graham is the one guy I’d like to put here over Lamar Jackson as long as I know he’s healthy. The one thing Lamar Jackson brings to the table that others don’t though is size. It will come down to what Matt Eberflus and Alan Williams want collectively for this defense.
