Projecting the Chicago Bears final 53-man roster before cutdown day

Defensive end might be one of the Chicago Bears best positions
When we look at position groups as a whole for the Chicago Bears, the defensive end spot might be one of the best. Robert Quinn has looked good in limited action. When healthy, he is one of the better pass rushers in the game. He is coming off an 18.5 sack performance and although I don’t believe he hits near that mark again, I do think he hits double-digits this year.
Behind Quinn will be Trevis Gipson and Al-Quadin Muhammad. Gipson would be my DE2 and Muhammad would be my DE3. Between these three guys, I’m going to assume Matt Eberflus rotates them in and out consistently. He did this in Indianapolis and top defensive ends did not see more than 65% of the snaps.
We have talked about how well the rookies have performed and although he left the game with an injury on Saturday, Dominque Robinson has looked very good for someone so raw. He too should see some snaps this year. The Colts kept 11 defensive linemen last year. I have the Chicago Bears keeping 10 this year — four defensive tackles and six defensive ends. To round out the defensive end group will be Mario Edwards and Sam Kamara.
