The Chicago Bears preseason finale brought a lot of confidence in Justin Fields and what the offense can do. However, the game can often be disappointing for many players. The last preseason game means that players will have their last shot to prove that they belong on the roster.

The second half was mostly about players having that final chance. Some players seize the moment and will point to this game as a night when they made the roster. Others may have realized that they are now on the outside looking in. Who are five players that may have gone from on the roster to off of it during the preseason?

5. Zach Thomas

Zach Thomas, the rookie draft pick may have solidified himself onto the practice squad, but not the active roster. One of the most notable developments from the second half of the preseason finale was seeing Lachavious Simmons running with the second team over Zach Thomas.

Thomas got into the game, but Simmons was then moved to left tackle. Simmons is starting over him and has more position versatility than Thomas. That is not a good sign for Thomas and his hopes of making the roster.

There were rumors that Thomas was in danger of being cut, but there was not much substance behind it. Now, seeing Simmons starting over him, you can confirm any thoughts that Thomas is behind the eight ball. It may be less about Simmons and more about Thomas.
