1. Michael Schofield

While Sam Kamara was firmly off of the roster a month ago, Michael Schofield was firmly on the roster not very long ago.  That is exactly what the preseason is for, though, as some players cemented their status and others start to fall like cement is strapped to their ankles.

Michael Schofield has had a tough month trying to shake off the rust. He lost his starting job to Teven Jenkins, and when it comes to the backup role, he is now questionable.

Three straight poor performances do not inspire the team to make the roster. Beyond that, the names he is competing with are all much younger than him.

Ja’Tyre Carter and Zach Thomas are rookie draft picks. Then, there is Lachavious Simmons, who played over Thomas as the backup left guard. Simmons was better than Schofield when the two were out there together, and Simmons finished the game at left tackle, showing much more versatility than Schofield.

When you consider Simmons is younger, attached to the team longer, and has more position flexibility position wise it becomes a debate it Schofield should even make the team over someone like him.

It will be interesting to see what happens with the veteran who has shown nothing to date.
