As the Chicago Bears move their roster from 80 down to 53 there has to be a reminder that there are now 16 practice squad spots. So, in actuality, the Bears will only be losing 11 players unless they are adding outside players.

With that in mind, most of the players being let go are going to be circling back. Who are 13 players that may be cut in the next couple of days, but will likely end up back with the team when all is said and done?

1. Ja’Tyre Carter

Ja’Tyre Carter is a rookie from Southern. Coming from such a small school we all knew that it was going to take time for him to learn the nuances of the NFL, and take on players of a different size. With that in mind, he has been running third-string right guard ever since the team moved Teven Jenkins from tackle to guard.

The team is going possibly add a backup at right guard, but no third-string right guard is going to make the team. The status of Carter was solidified in the final preseason game when he did not play at all.

The team went with Teven Jenkins during the first half, and Michael Schofield during the second half. The team could still cut Schofield, but the reality is that Carter did not play because the team is likely looking to slip him through to the practice squad.

Carter knows that the year of learning is best for him, and the team knows that they will not get much noise from outside teams with such a limited sample.
