The Chicago Bears just announced who will be sticking around on the team’s final 53-man roster. I’ll admit there were a few surprises compared to how I thought the team would end up at 4:00 pm EST today. I’ll admit that I had a few guys in my projections that I am not shocked didn’t make the final cut, but there are still a few names that I was like, wow, I didn’t expect that to happen.

Not all of them were big names though. There must be more to the Thomas Graham situation than we know about because he was a guy I didn’t think would be cut from the 2022 NFL roster. I thought if anything, he would be put on injured reserve. Instead, we saw the other nickel cornerback most people thought could be the starter, Tavon Young placed on injured reserve instead. Both of these guys battled through some injuries this offseason and didn’t contribute to the production we saw from the Bears in the preseason.

The Chicago Bears have decided who is sticking around on the 53-man roster

N’Keal Harry is projected to be put on injured reserve, but his presence on the 53-man roster now means that, unlike Young, N’Keal Harry will be designated to return after four weeks. Based on Harry’s injury, the timeline for him to return is about Week 5 — meaning that without any setbacks this timing couldn’t have been much better.

There are a few names that stood out, at least from a “name” perspective. These are guys who have maybe had success in the past or they have become a name to at least Chicago Bears fans. Four of them stood out to me and I’m a little surprised by two of them.
