5 players the Chicago Bears should add after rosters cut to 53 players

Players the Chicago Bears Must Consider Adding: Preston Williams, WR
If the Bears want a high-upside wide receiver, Preston Williams is their guy. Williams towers over most opposing cornerbacks at 6’4″ and is a powerful 220 pounds. For some odd reason, he fell out of favor in Miami and was cut, but the Bears could turn Williams into their own project as his measurables are too enticing to not take a look at.
Williams looked solid as an undrafted free agent rookie bringing in 428 yards and three touchdowns in only eight games. He since then didn’t play much as he only played eight games in 2020 and 2021. He has had various injuries like torn ACL and season-ending foot surgery, but he is healthy now and should push for a roster spot on a team.
If the Bears paired his enticing size and speed with Mooney, they could both develop into a solid duo for the 2022 season before they look to the NFL Draft for more help. Williams is a bit of a risk given his injuries, but he could be worth taking a flier on in favor of Tajae Sharpe as he is only 25 years old. At the very least, he is a solid depth option who could be a red zone threat.
