The Chicago Bears add more speed and energy to their WR room

Standing 6-foot-1 and weighing in at 185 pounds, Ihmir Smith-Marsette isn’t some freakishly tall wide receiver prototype, however, the part of Smith-Marsette’s game that should translate well with Luke Getsy’s offensive plan is his speed and his explosiveness.

Not only that, but he’s genuinely a threat no matter how the ball gets in his hands. It could be handed off, thrown, or kicked to him, and there’s potential that Smith-Marsette does incredible things with it.

As someone that shared a classroom with Ihmir Smith-Marsette while at the University of Iowa, I can also attest to the fact that Smith-Marsette has incredibly fun energy around him. Does that equate to Super Bowl success? Who knows, but it’s certainly more of a positive than a negative.

With how the Chicago Bears have been the past three or so years, the Chicago Bears need to find a way to have fun with the game, simple as that. It was clear towards the end of Nagy’s time with the Bears that players just didn’t enjoy playing in Chicago.

Editor’s Note: Just not “Club Dub” type fun!
