Chicago Bears Keys to a Win: Make Trey Lance beat you

Trey Lance will be in his first-ever game as a full-time starter as he waited in the wings behind Jimmy Garoppolo before being named the starter this season. The Bears need to do everything they can to make life as hard as possible on the first-year starter. There will be plenty of pressure on Trey Lance who will be taking over for a team that is in the chase for a Super Bowl. The Chicago Bears must take advantage of that pressure in Week 1.

Lance will be naturally nervous in his first-ever start due to expectations and natural jitters, and the Bears need to make sure he earns the win. They can do this by selling out and finding a way to stop the run game. The run game is the core of the Kyle Shanahan offense, and by taking this away you are putting yourself in a good spot to win.

If the Chicago Bears can’t find a way to stop the run and if Trey Lance is comfortable handing the ball off all game, it could very well be a long afternoon for the Bears.
