The offensive line is seeing a bit of a shakeup during Week 1 practices

For starters, the Chicago Bears claimed Alex Leatherwood last week and we have yet to see what the plan is for him. As of now, he’s slotted in as the backup right tackle behind Larry Borom, but could he also cause a shift to the line if he can force his way into that spot? Some thought he might be better suited for guard too, which means maybe he’s going to be the future right guard. Have you kept up with all these changes?

Well, now there might be a new change. Lucas Patrick is back at practice, but it appears his thumb isn’t quite ready yet for snapping the football. According to reports, he’s been lining up as the starting right guard spot.

If we go off of the unofficial depth chart the Chicago Bears released, Lucas Patrick is slotted as the starting center and both Teven Jenkins and Larry Borom are slotted on the right side. If Patrick cannot go at center, it appears that Mustipher will start there instead, while Patrick slides over to the starting right guard spot. Patrick’s experience makes sense to be the starting right guard over Teven Jenkins — at least in the short term. That said, I’m not thrilled with the outcome here.
