Chicago Bears 2022 Schedule: Weeks 1 through 3

Week 1: Chicago Bears vs. 49ers

The Chicago Bears will start the season off against a team many view as a Super Bowl contender. They might not have the best odds of winning, but if Trey Lance is able to prove himself, this team is made to win now. The keys to this team being dominant are Lance performing well, the inexperienced offensive line holding up, and the defense staying healthy.

Since this is Week 1 of the season, I have more faith in what I have seen from Justin Fields in Luke Getsy’s offense than what I have seen from Lance. The 49ers’ defense should be dominant thanks to a front seven led by Nick Bosa, but the Bears’ defense should be a top defense this season as well. Therefore, I have Matt Eberflus and this Chicago Bears team continuing with their winning streak and taking home this victory at home to start the season 1-0.

Week 2: Chicago Bears @ Packers

Well, it didn’t take long for the NFL schedule makers to put one of the oldest divisional rivals to the test. The problem here is that the Packers, although possibly declining, have owned the Chicago Bears for quite some time now. I don’t see that changing in the second week of the season. Aaron Rodgers is too experienced and talented. This team always seems to find a way to beat our beloved Bears and until I see it change, I’m not betting on Chicago to win.

Week 3: Chicago Bears vs. Texans

I think this matchup could be a little closer than some Bears fans think. Lovie Smith is a very good coach and the Texans should be well-disciplined as well. Eberflus and Smith run a very similar offense as Eberflus has mimicked his defense on the same Cover-2 style. There shouldn’t be an advantage here as they both know the scheme well enough to also know how to attack it. Where I see the difference here is that Justin Fields is once again the better quarterback. Nothing against Davis Mills, but I just don’t see the Bears losing this game – even if it will be somewhat close.

Bears record through three games: 2-1
