Robert Quinn
Robert Quinn has always been an up-and-down player throughout his career. What has been wild is that Quinn has typically followed his best seasons with some of his worst seasons. So, it brought questions about how Quinn would follow up his huge season in 2021.
So far, he has handled things well. According to PFF, he has six pressures, and he pinned Aaron Rogers with a sack on Sunday. Beyond that, he is impacting the game by the attention he draws. Below you can see how he looks in double rate vs. pass rush win rate.
It appears as though only Nick Bosa and Aidan Hutchinson have been double-teamed more than Robert Quinn. Still, he is above Hutchinson is win rate and overall above average in win rate.
This helps not only Quinn but for the rest of the roster. They are using an extra player on Quinn, which means one defender should be free or should be able to double team in coverage.
If they use an extra lineman, it is helping guys like Armon Watts, and Trevis Gipson, who are having good seasons. If it is a tight end it is helping Nicholas Morrow and Roquan Smith. Robert Quinn has had his issues against the run, and those will never go away, but he has not been the base of the problems there, either.
Overall, Quinn has been a bright spot for the Chicago Bears.
