The Chicago Bears are looking to bounce back from a rough loss to the Green Bay Packers last week. The Bears technically scored another touchdown as Justin Fields ran in another TD on fourth-and-one out of the shotgun, but the refs were clearly not wearing their corrective lenses. The team cannot count on these close calls to go their way (especially vs the Packers) and needs to score definitive points.

I missed the last two games live because we surprised our three kids with a trip to Disney World. They thought they were going to the doctor, but instead, we secretly packed everything up and headed to the airport instead. It was an amazing time getting away and we had an absolute blast, but I am glad to get back into the weekly NFL grind. Thank goodness we didn’t go this week as Hurricane Ira is headed towards Mickey’s mouse house. It will probably look somewhat similar to what the Bears played in vs the 49ers vs Week 1, haha!

The offense has yet to showcase what we expect to see — even with a lesser-talented receiving group. The offensive line has held their own to this point despite Lucas Patrick not being able to start at center this week. We need Larry Borom to have a better game or will we see Riley Reiff playing RT today?

These three players must show up for the Chicago Bears vs the Texans

These might seem simple, but there are three players who need to step up their game vs. the Texans in Week 3.

Justin Fields, QB

This offense is going to go as far as Justin Fields takes them. We saw a dominant run game last week and that is the key again for this team vs the Texans as they struggle to keep running backs from gaining nearly five yards per carry. The thing is, even with David Montgomery and Khalil Herbert looking dominant, the team only scored 10 points. Justin Fields left plays on the field I know he would want back — positive ones that could have gone for more. He needs to hit those big plays that lead to touchdowns.

Darnell Mooney, WR

One of the players Justin Fields missed who could have had a much bigger day was Darnell Mooney. Mooney only has two catches on the year for four yards. He only has five targets through two games. This needs to change this week and it falls as much on Fields as it does Mooney. We need to see a WR1 performance today.

Kyler Gordon, CB

With Jaylon Johnson out for the Chicago Bears, Kyler Gordon must step up after a rough performance in Week 2. Gordon has allowed 15 of his 20 targets to be completed. I know he’s young, but we cannot have that type of performance with Johnson not able to suit up on the outside as the CB1. Gordon must come to play today.
