Khalil Herbert earned the game ball in Chicago’s win over Houston, and with good reason. The former sixth-round pick exploded for 157 yards and two TDs after David Montgomery’s injury, so it seems the Bears’ rushing attack is still in good hands.

The Giants have a stout run defense, so Herbert will need his best effort. I have faith in both Herbert and Justin Fields, so I’m inclined to back the Bears as road underdogs against New York on a short week.

It helps the Giants that they stay at home, but playing against a physical runner like Herbert immediately after facing Ezekiel Elliott and Tony Pollard won’t be easy. With Daniel Jones’ propensity to quite literally give the game away, I can’t trust New York as a home favorite with limited rest.

Heading into Monday night, the Giants were just 2-5-1 against the spread in their last seven games as home favorites. Expect Chicago to take advantage of its mediocre opponent to pick up a critical win and move to 3-1 on the season.
