3. Roquan Smith 3 yard tackle for loss

With 1:32 to go in 3rd, the Chicago Bears led the game 20-17, but Houston was driving. In fact, they were at the two-yard line. They faced third and one. A gain of one would have set up first and goal from the one-yard line. That would have been tough for Chicago to get out of without allowing a touchdown.

Of course, a gain of two was the endzone. However, the Texans wound up losing three on the play. Roquan Smith shot the gap and made the huge stick in the backfield.

This was the type of play that he has been needing to make. They have put him in the position where he is supposed to be reactive and see those things, and that is everything the team asked for.

The reality is that if the score gets to 24-20 there, it is probably over considering how Chicago played on offense. The play pushed them from the two to the five, and with fourth and goal from the five, it was obvious what was going to happen next. They kicked the field goal, and the only damage was a tie game.
