Chicago Bears 2022 Trade Candidate: Michael Schofield, OG

In a very similar situation as Riley Reiff, Michael Schofield could probably help upgrade one of the guard spots for another team. This trade would have made more sense before the Cody Whitehair injury. If Whitehair is going to miss significant time or the remainder of the season, then it might be difficult to move on from Schofield. Honestly, I’d like to see him start at left guard in Whitehair’s absence as long as Lucas Patrick can move to center, and finally, Teven Jenkins can be the permanent right guard. I’m just not sure that happens.

Once again, if the Bears aren’t going to play Schofield, why not move him if possible? Both Schofield and Riley Reiff are proven veterans. I am sure a team that sustains an injury or is just looking to upgrade their offensive line would be interested in either of these linemen’s services.

Just like Reiff, I don’t think Schofield offers much of a return. That said, he should at least help the Chicago Bears net a sixth or seventh-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. Ryan Poles and this team need as many draft picks as possible and they could even use the additional pick with another pick to trade up should Poles find the situation presents itself.
