Chicago Bears Overreaction No. 2: Matthew Eberflus is the halftime G.O.A.T.

Similar to the section above, this title might be a bit of an overreaction. However, it might not be that much of an overreaction to think this.

While Matt Eberflus was a hire that made some people scratch their heads since he wasn’t a “sexy” offensive guru — similar to whom the Bears just divorced– he’s been showing week after week why he’s here to stay.

Through five games of being the Chicago Bears head coach, he’s given up 80 first-half points, while only giving up 26 second-half points. This week against the Vikings is the first time in Eberflus’ time with the Bears that a team has scored a second-half touchdown.

It’s clear that Eberflus has a way of adapting a game plan, which was something Matt Nagy never seemed to be able to do. If it was ugly early on, it stayed ugly until the clocks read 00:00.

Now, in a perfect world, Eberflus and the Bears are ready out the gate. But, since a perfect world doesn’t exist, being able to adapt to a team’s first-half performance will do for now.
