4. Chicago Bears must take advantage of Cornerback benching

Last offseason the Washington Commanders went out and spent big money on William Jackson. That has turned into a disaster. Jackson has struggled, and last week was caught having a poor tackle attempt against Derrick Henry.

It led to the team benching him. Jackson said that he had a back injury, and Washington has him on the injury report, but he has been practicing in full.

If he plays, it will be Jackson with Kendall Fuller across from him and Benjamin St. Juste in the slot. If they do not, it will be Fuller and St. Juste outside, with Rashaad Wildgoose in the slot.

If Jackson does play, the team should pick on Fuller. For as bad as Kyler Gordon has looked, the name right beside him in yards allowed this season is Kendall Fuller.

Christian Kirk hit him for 49 yards, Josh Reynolds picked up a 23-yard catch, and Noah Brown had 45. Devonta Smith had 95 yards on him and A.J. Brown had 51, but these other receivers found big plays. Fuller played well against Tennessee, but their wide receiver corps may be worse than the Chicago Bears. The team should surely test Fuller deep.

Beyond that, if Jackson is out, they should look to Wildgoose, a backup slot cornerback with limited experience in the NFL. The team should have some matchup advantages, especially when you consider Jackson has been slumping, has a bad back, and now is not happy with the coaches.

No matter which cornerback you look, if they do not throw toward St. Juste, you may be favoring the Chicago Bears wide receivers. It will be interesting to see if Washington will continue to sit William Jackson or not.
