1. Equanimeous St. Brown is having a career year for Chicago Bears
Okay, this one is not a huge game-changer, but Equanineous St. Brown is on pace for his best season yet. He has 110 yards in six games, which is more than he had all of last season, and he has doubled his career total in rushing yards.
Some of this is because the players around him are falling and he is the healthy option left. However, the Chicago Bears coaches tend to like St. Brown.
He is the highest-graded run blocker in the NFL, and it is clearly a skill that he brings which adds value. Beyond that, he runs routes that help clear things out for other receivers. Doing the unselfish things has given Chicago the faith to put the ball in his hands more than other teams.
Even with N’Keal Harry, you should expect to see St. Brown remain as the number two wide receiver, which he has been all season. Playing St. Brown on the line and on the outside allows them to motion Mooney and line him up in the slot, which has made things easier on him.
It is a bunch of small things that are making St. Brown better than you realize, but those small things are helping him have a more productive season than he ever has. That is surprising when you think about it.
