Justin Fields found some success vs the Commanders

When we look at the All-22 film of the Chicago Bears vs Commanders game, the tape shows that Justin Fields regressed after having his strongest performance just a week prior. The offense is looking broken and we as fans need to remain patient. However, it is difficult to do such a thing when we watch Fields take hit after hit. Not all of it is on the offensive line, but they aren’t helping any matters.

Justin Fields received two double positive plays from me. One was the deep touchdown pass to Dante Pettis. The other was his scramble of over 40 yards to set the Chicago Bears up for a game-winning red zone stand. Unfortunately, they fell just short as Darnell Mooney caught the ball just outside the end zone. These two plays accounted for less than 3% of Fields’ plays in the game.

When it came to the positive plays, Justin Fields fared much better. He finished with 19 of them and they consisted of plays like a cross-body throw to Dante Pettis on second and 10 for a 15-yard gain. They consisted of his ability to get the ball out quickly as he should be doing more often for easy completions. The positional player who was catching these quick passes typically was able to gain some decent yards after the catch (YAC). These plays need to happen more often to help the offensive line and Justin Fields.
