2. Should Chicago Bears get in early on Calvin Ridley?
This may not be the name that many Chicago Bears have been thinking about, but the timing may not be better. Obviously, Calvin Ridley is suspended this season and would not play for the Chicago Bears until next season. However, that may be what helps open a window for trading him right now.
We know that the Atlanta Falcons are ready to move on. They have Drake London, Kyle Pitts, a new coach, front office, and they have all but moved on from Ridley before he was suspended when they let him leave the team last season.
Teams will be calling about Ridley this offseason, and the talks will get hotter as the attention shifts back to his return and player movement. However, now that teams are focusing on the task at hand, and winning teams are worried about what they can do to add to this current roster, the Chicago Bears could be looking ahead.
They should at least call about Calvin Ridley. Perhaps the Falcons do not want to deal with the headache this offseason and if they get a fair offer now they will take it.
This would involve the Chicago Bears thinking ahead, but the reality is that their record says that they should be doing that anyways. This is a nice way for them to buy, while still being sellers this season.
