The 2-4 Chicago Bears will visit the 3-3 New England Patriots on Monday Night Football, and while this will end Week 7 in the NFL, the bigger story remains Chicago and Boston squaring off in a sports battle of the cities.

With the Bears vs Patriots game starting at approximately 7:15 CST on Monday night, the two cities’ storied basketball franchises will tip off in Chicago’s United Center about 15 minutes before the Monday Night opening kickoff.

Chicago Bears vs Patriots is the second leg of a Chicago vs Boston Monday Night

The 1-2 Chicago Bulls host the 3-0 Boston Celtics in their fourth straight game against Eastern Conference opponents. The Celtics and the Milwaukee Bucks are the only remaining undefeated teams in the East, although the latter has only played two games thus far, and with Chicago at the current 10 seed, this may be a good opportunity for the Chicago Bulls to make up some ground in this young NBA season.

With these two games happening nearly simultaneously between two great sports cities in Chicago and (to a lesser degree) Boston, it will be interesting to see the cities’ cumulative records. Both Boston teams present tough challenges for their Chicago counterparts, and while the Bears may appear to be an almost lost cause heading into New England, Chicago fans may be able to seek solace in the Chicago Bulls upsetting a strong Boston Celtics squad.

With a strong possibility of both Chicago teams losing tonight, it would be exciting to see both squads pull off individual upsets and get their seasons back on track.
