Chicago Bears Stud No. 3: Cairo Santos, K

An honorary mention should go to the running back duo of David Montgomery and Khalil Herbert. They split time today and it worked wonders as both players contributed and found the endzone at big times throughout the game.

Still, Cairo Santos deserves the final winner spot because he has been the most consistent player on the team this year. Sure, he is a kicker, but in terms of doing his job, he has been perfect. He was 4/4 on the night for field goals, including a 50-yard field goal in the rain and wind. He also was perfect on extra points on the day too.

Santos still is an underrated kicker in the league. He has been a top kicker for the last three seasons now ever since his second stint with the Bears started. He has been super reliable for the team that has needed his leg to bail out the poor red-zone offense.

The Bears have had their kicking issues ever since Robbie Gould left. Going back to Cody Parkey, trading for Roberto Aguayo, then the training camp kicking competition, through the Eddie Pinero era, and finally the stability of Cairo Santos it has been a wild ride for the kicking position.

Week in and week out the Bears can count on Santos to hit big kicks and kick the ball through the endzone on kickoff duties. He might not have the big leg a lot of kickers have these days, but he is up there with the best of the in terms of accuracy and clutch gene. He deserves a lot of credit for his consistency this season.
