Chicago Bears Key No. 2: Keep a favorable game script

For the Chicago Bears to keep running the ball they need to stay in a position where running the ball is possible. Meaning that if the Bears are down a lot early, they can’t run the ball due to clock management issues. The Bears should look to strike first blood whether or not that is by taking the ball first if you win the toss, or by making sure you have a good game plan for the first drive of the game. As most coordinators plan out their plays on the first drive of the game before gameday and have it all scripted.

In addition to this, the Chicago Bears need to be aggressive on fourth down to keep that game script in favor of them — anything from midfield on 4th and 3 or less, the Bears should go for it. It’s not an easy decision, and it’s not always gonna work out, but to beat a team like the Cowboys, it’s necessary.

Luke Getsy and Matt Eberflus need to build off of the game script they had vs the Patriots. They had the right idea on finding a weakness in the Patriots and attacking it. Now, they will need to find a way to attack Micah Parsons and the Cowboys’ strong defense, while also keeping the Cowboys’ talented offense out of the end zone.
