The fire sale is on for the Chicago Bears. After Roquan Smith and Robert Quinn were dealt with, there have been reports coming out that the team may not be done yet. Considering Smith and Quinn were the big names that everyone assumed would be moved, the question becomes, who else?

4. Is trading David Montgomery a possibility for Chicago Bears?

This appears to be the most obvious name on the trade block now that the big two names are gone. David Montgomery has a few things going against him. First, he is a free agent this offseason. If the Chicago Bears have any feeling that he may not stay, why not trade him?

Second, they have Khalil Herbert waiting in the background, and third, we see that Ryan Poles wants nothing to do with Ryan Pace’s leftovers. Lastly, of the names that could get traded, Montgomery probably gets one of the better hauls left.

This will make it an interesting discussion. On the flip side, there is an argument to keep him. Montgomery is that he is a great fit with Herbert as a 1-2 punch. Because they are both better in a timeshare, Montgomery could be more likely to sign at a reasonable price this off-season. He also did not demand a trade like Roquan Smith, nor did he skip OTAs like Robert Quinn. In fact, he has been the exact opposite in as a leader. This one is more complicated than the first two for sure.

Still, if the Chicago Bears are fielding calls, they are mostly going to be for their starting running back.
