Dominique Robinson will finish the season with five sacks for the Chicago Bears

As of right now, Dominique Robinson has only recorded 1.5 sacks on the year. He trails Trevis Gipson who only has two. Seeing Robinson flash this early in his NFL career is exciting. He is a very raw player who was playing WR in college just over a year ago. Now, he brings speed and the ability to get to the quarterback to the defensive side of the ball. What he still is learning though is proper techniques.

As Robinson continues to learn and grow under defensive line coach Travis Smith, his game should progress. We are heading into the second half of the season and I am giving a bold prediction that Robinson will finish with another 3.5 sacks to finish out the year with five. That doesn’t seem like much, but for a guy who was drafted in the fifth round and has only a little over a year’s worth of experience at the position, that’s a great return.

With Robert Quinn traded, Dominique Robinson’s snap count surprisingly didn’t go up vs the Cowboys. I am expecting that to change throughout the last half of these games though. He has five pressures on the year and if he can turn a couple of those into actual sacks, Alan Williams will be forced to play him more often — giving him even more opportunities.
