How the Packers could end up with a worse record than the Chicago Bears

When I did my Chicago Bears record predictions for the 2022 NFL season, I had the Bears winning nine games. I was clearly biased, but I thought Justin Fields would be able to reach a level that allowed the team to beat the likes of the Washington Commanders and New York Giants. I had them with five wins at this point in the season. Instead, they have three. What I didn’t expect was for the Green Bay Packers to have the same record.

As it stands, both teams are 3-6 on the year. The Packers have lost five games in a row. The teams they beat include the Chicago Bears, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the New England Patriots. The win over the Bears looked legit in Week 2. However, seeing what we have seen from the Buccaneers and Patriots makes the other two wins far from impressive.

The Chicago Bears are on the rise while the Packers are spiraling downward

I think it is safe to say that many fans and analysts assumed the Packers would be competitive due to their defense — one I thought was slightly overrated last season — and Aaron Rodgers. Those same people also acknowledged the fact that the wide receiver group in Green Bay wasn’t much better and could potentially be worse than the Chicago Bears group. We are seeing a bit of an implosion in Green Bay and I am here for it.

The teams that the Packers lost to weren’t the Kansas City Chiefs and Buffalo Bills either. Well, one loss was to the Bills. The other teams they lost to were the Vikings (fair enough), Giants, Jets, Commanders and Lions. Things aren’t going to get any easier for this team going forward either.
