2. Is Eddie Jackson back to 2018 Eddie?

Do not look now, but PFF has Eddie Jackson graded as the best defender on the roster. With Roquan Smith and Robert Quinn gone, the honor is not as strong, but can anyone deny that he is the best of what the Chicago Bears have? Would anyone have said that back in August?

We wrote this summer that we expected to see some improvement from Eddie Jackson because the scheme would allow for it. Still, we did not expect to see him on pace to have more interceptions than his 2018 season.

I would not say that Eddie Jackson is quite on that level, and perhaps this season the ball is bouncing the right way after a few seasons in which it did not. Still, beyond the 2018 season, this has to be the most excited fans have been about Jackson.

It is obvious that he is more comfortable playing deep, which is why Jaquan Brisker was such a smart addition. He eats up all the box snaps, and there is no need to ask Jackson to do what he is not great at. This has led to Eddie Jackson getting back to what we expected him to be, which is a bit of a surprise.
