Justin Fields and Aaron Rodgers are having drastically different 2022 seasons

Let’s first take a look at each player’s total stats. This is going to easily show Aaron Rodgers has had a better season. Justin Fields struggled in the beginning of the year. He was holding the ball too long and taking unnecessary sacks. He was missing open reads and struggled to hit short to intermdiate routes. Some fans and many analysts spoke poorly of the second-year quarterback.

Not enough people realized he had not started a full seasons worth of games until Week 7. By then, his season had started to take a turn for the better. You can tell the game is starting to slow down for him. This doesn’t mean he’s guaranteed to become elite, but he’s definitely trending in the right direction.

There are a few key areas that Aaron Rodgers is dominating — such as total yardage and completion percentage. However, he doesn’t come remotely close to Justin FIelds’ ability to run the ball. Even from a season-long standpoint, Justin FIelds’ quarterback rating is close to Rodgers. His QBR is significantly better than Rodgers due to his rushing attack. Even Fields’ TD% is better at 5.3 compared to Rodgers at 4.4.

Now, let’s look a little closer at just the last five games.
