3 ways Detroit Lions can upset the Chicago Bears
1. Amon-Ra St. Brown against Kyler Gordon
If Jared Goff has success against the Chicago Bears, it will be because of Amon-Ra St. Brown. St. Brown is the leading receiver by a wide margin, and with Josh Reynolds and D.J. Chark likely out for this game, he is joined by Khaliff Raymond and Tom Kennedy.
While all eyes will be on St. Brown, they do a good job of scheming him up, and beyond that he is in the slot on 60% of his snaps. Beyond that, Kindle Vildor is likely out for this game, so St. Brown will either see Jaylon Jones or Kyler Gordon in most scenarios. It will be easy to scheme him away from Jaylon Johnson with how much he moves around.
Gordon was awful to start the season but found his footing a bit. Still, his best games are against Washington and New England, mainly because they could not pass the ball well.
He came away from those two high games and ended up giving up big catches to CeeDee Lamb, Tyreek Hill, and Jaylen Waddle. It is fair to assume he will struggle against the big names, but St. Brown is a big name.
If St. Brown is not up against Gordon, it could be worse if it is Jaylon Jones. The Detroit Lions will be able to run on the Chicago Bears, they will be able to give Jared Goff clean pockets, and St. Brown should beat their cornerbacks. This is going to be a tough game.
