We have hit the halfway point of the 2022 NFL regular season. The Chicago Bears find themselves 3-6 on the year with a few games that honestly could have gone either way. The Bears should have beaten the Commanders. They could have beaten the Dolphins and the Giants too. This means that the team could realistically be 6-3 on the season.

Unfortunately, the team is short on top-level talent and that makes a big difference. This is why they find themselves three games below .500. There are also many other teams that can make this same claim and this is why almost winning doesn’t matter in the end. I do expect them to beat the Lions today though.

The Chicago Bears could cut these three players to save even more money

As Ryan Poles, Ian Cunningham and Matt Eberflus look ahead to the future, the three of them must decide what players are best for this team’s future. The Chicago Bears sit at the top of the league with a projected salary cap in 2023 of over $115 million. The closest team to them as it currently stands is the Atlanta Falcons. The Falcons only have $68 million. That’s a $37 million dollar difference.

The Chicago Bears also have the ability to free up even more cap space too. When we look at the roster, there are a few names that don’t appear to be a part of the team’s future. This is based on age, their salary cap hit, their dead cap hit and their production on the field this season. Ryan Poles already sent off the likes of Khalil Mack and Robert Quinn via trade this season. He also made the decision to cut players like Tarik Cohen, Eddie Goldman and more. It’s likely that he’s going to decide to make other decisions like these in the future too.

Here are three players who could potentially be cut and become cap casualties in the next offseason.
