The Chicago Bears should push for Justin Fields to sit out the rest of the season

It looks to me when I watch the tape that Justin Fields is the real deal. He could be the golden goose and the quarterback to finally break the cycle this franchise has experienced for decades. Over his last seven weeks, Fields has been one of the better quarterbacks in the league. He has thrown 11 touchdowns and ran in another six for a total of 17 touchdowns. He threw four interceptions during that time too, but the drastic improvements were there. We have seen enough from him this season.

That’s the argument here. We’ve seen enough from Fields to know that he doesn’t need to take another snap this season. If the team puts the proper amount of talent around Fields, then he shouldn’t have a slow start to the 2023 season. Instead, this team should come out swinging. The 2023 NFL Draft could be key to adding that talent. The Chicago Bears currently hold the third pick in the draft. Should Justin Fields sit the rest of the year, it’s more likely they hold that spot or even gain the first or second pick in the draft. Tanking is not great but could make some sense for this team.

This whole situation is not ideal. The Chicago Bears were never supposed to be this bad this season — even though they are in the first year of their rebuilding phase. You now have the three scenarios most likely to be used regarding the Justin Fields injury. If you were in charge, which scenario would you choose?
