Justin Fields said after the Green Bay Packers game that he felt it was one of the best passing performances of his career. He said that the numbers may not show it, but he felt the best about himself after this game. While some raw stats may not show it, there are in-depth stats to point to showing us that Fields did improve his play with the Chicago Bears.

5. Justin Fields is playing better under pressure

This season Justin Fields is just a 44% completion passer when he is facing pressure, per PFF. This has been an issue for him throughout the year. However, on Sunday, he was calm and poised under pressure. He was 6-7 in the game, with an 86% completion rate. Nearly doubling his completion rate compared to his season average is pretty good, but of course, that is a small sample.

Still, his average depth of target went up nearly a yard on these plays, while his yards per attempt was nearly doubled. Beyond that, his time to throw when facing pressure was down from 4.32 to 4.01.

He is thinking quicker when he sees a defender in his face, plus he is still pushing it downfield as much if not more, for bigger gains. This is what happens when you start to trust yourself more and think faster. You start to see things come together against pressure.

Beyond that, Justin Fields was not sacked on Sunday, We have to give the line its due, but Fields faced pressure on 32% of his dropbacks Sunday. That is down from 44% on the season, but he still felt it.

When he is under pressure, he took a sack 24% of the time so far this year. That obviously went down to zero. The difference between sacks and completions can be as quick as 0.32 seconds, and Fields getting the ball out that much quicker has led to him feeling more confident in himself.
