2. What is the ceiling for Jack Sanborn

The Chicago Bears have to love what they have seen from Jack Sanborn so far. What makes his run of starts the most satisfying has been watching the progress. Sanborn is a rookie UDFA, so to say there are no mistakes would be foolish.

At the same time, the biggest thing you notice with Sanborn is that he rarely makes the same mistake twice. Sanborn has improved in coverage, especially with more complex zone decisions.

Beyond that, he has improved on his angles, as well as his timing. In college, you can attack every play, but in the NFL you have to stick to your gap, and we have seen Sanborn play with more control recently.

As we noted with Kyler Gordon, this will be a huge test for Sanborn after the bye week because of the opponents in which he plays. With Jalen Hurts, and Josh Allen you are talking about quarterbacks that Sanborn may have to spy, on or at least get challenged in unique ways. Plus, they can pass the ball well.

Minnesota and Detroit have great passing attacks as well, and both are built off of play-action. This is another area where we want to see Sanborn improve. No matter what Sanborn does, the Chicago Bears will learn so much and will give them heaps of value heading into the offseason, when they can pinpoint areas of his game to attack and improve on. His play in the next few games should dictate what specific traits they highlight.
