Chicago Bears land a top prospect in full seven-round 2023 mock draft

Chicago Bears Mock Draft, Pick No. 137: Carter Warren, OT (Pittsburgh)
With the Chicago Bears having a less-than-ideal offensive line, adding an athlete like Carter Warren from Pittsburgh is helpful in the Bears’ quest for a serviceable offensive line.

If not for an injury that ended his season Warren would be a day two pick. If his medicals cause him to drop to day three the Bears should snag him. He flashes independent hands and great lataeral agility to stay in front of even the quickest DEs pic.twitter.com/KqmqfyVQlx
While nothing he does fits under the “elite” umbrella, he’d be an interesting prospect to have battle Larry Borom for a starting tackle spot.
Based on how Braxton Jones has played this year, it’s not absurd to think he could be the left tackle of the future— even if that just means for another year.
Free agency could bring in a tackle, however, the pickings are slim.
2023 Top free agent offensive tackles
- Orlando Brown Jr., KC
- Jack Conklin, CLE
- George Fant, NYJ
- Cameron Erving, CAR
- Mike McGlinchey, SF
Of this group, there are a couple of tackles that would probably make sense, but as Ryan Poles has noted, he wants to build through the draft.
Whether that means he’s willing to punt on free agent tackles, we’ll see.
If he does punt on them, Carter Warren could make for a supplemental addition to the offensive line.
