Chicago Bears Mock Draft, Pick No. 151: Charlie Jones, WR (Purdue)

I know, I know.

The first receiver is coming with pick No. 151?

Well, in all honesty, the Chicago Bears just have so many needs, that itā€™s tough to pass on needs to get wants.

Justin Fields has shown he doesnā€™t need all that much around him to be great.

And, though it was a bit pricey, acquiring Chase Claypool was a big move in the season. He adds much-needed height to the receiver room, and with a full offseason to learn the offense, he could be a big playmaker next season.

With Charlie Jones comes a consistent pair of hands that are attached to one of the hardest workers in the draft.

Starting in Buffalo, Jones has had an up-and-down college career.

A year was spent in Buffalo, and that was a quiet year.

Then, Jones made a splash at Iowa, however, it was mainly as a return specialist.

In his final season, Jones decided to go to Purdue to play with a lifelong friend in Aidan Oā€™Connell, where the two made magic happen.

Charlie Jones ended his final season with Purdue with 110 receptions, 1,361 yards, and 12 TDs.

Oh, and as mentioned earlier, he hardly drops the ball.

Those skills attached to a 6-foot-tall, the 188-pound receiver could be exactly what Justin Fields and the Chicago Bears need to turn their offense into a scary one.
