Justin Fields’ Chicago Bears Christmas List: Better health for all in 2023

It is no secret that Justin Fields is playing with a separated shoulder. He is in pain and discomfort but still looked solid for 95% of the game vs the Packers and is at full health after coming off the bye week to play the Eagles. The thing is, Justin Fields is seen as a great teammate and if he were to be writing Santa a Christmas wish list, it would likely include better health not only for himself but also for his teammates.

Darnell Mooney and Eddie Jackson are both done for the year. Khalil Herbert should be back for the Bills game if everything stays on track. Trevor Siemian went on injured/reserve last week. Dane Cruikshank also went on IR last week and Lucas Patrick has hardly played this season due to injury (not that he was playing well when healthy). Now, Jack Sanborn, the rookie linebacker who has taken this team and fan base by storm, has also been put on season-ending IR. Jaylon Johnson is also dealing with an injury and his status is up in the air for the Christmas Eve game vs the Bills.

This is fairly obvious and clearly not analytical. This would literally be on every player’s Christmas wish list in the NFL. However, if anyone is going to be able to make sure the team stays healthy, jolly ol’ Saint Nick and his magic have the answers, right? Since this season is basically in the books, this wish list item will specify that the team finds good health in 2023.
