Justin Fields’ Chicago Bears Christmas List: An elite WR1

The Chicago Bears, Ryan Poles and Justin Fields have seen first-hand what a team with an elite wide receiver looks like. In fact, they have seen two teams that have two elite wide receivers, while the Bears struggle with a bunch of WR2s. The Miami Dolphins have Jalen Waddle and Tyreek Hill, both who are top-10 in the NFL in receiving yards this year. Hill is currently second behind only Justin Jefferson, while Waddle is ranked seventh. The Eagles have A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith. Brown is sixth and Smith is 17th — both should have no problem breaking 1,000 yards.

Landing two, top-end WRs would be amazing, but I think Justin Fields would settle for just one of these guys. Chase Claypool brings a new dynamic to the offense and you especially see his presence when looking at the stats of Cole Kmet with and without Claypool on the field. Darnell Mooney has some game too, but neither are elite. Justin Fields could use the help of an elite receiver.

Hopefully, Santa Claus is listening and helps guide Ryan Poles to finding one. Trading for one is highly unlikely and free agency is meh at best. This means, Poles will need to find one in the 2023 NFL Draft and there aren’t as many to pick from this upcoming offseason as we have seen over the last couple of years.
