One player that the Chicago Bears needed to see more from this season was Kyler Gordon. The rookie had been having a roller coaster up and down season, but at the bye week, he was on another downslope.

Gordon returned from a concussion during the bye, and now had the chance to take a step forward during the final month of the season. It was going to be tough with the Eagles as his first opponent back, but it is fair to say that Gordon handled himself well.

Kyler Gordon finished the game with an interception, a pass defense, and a fumble recovery. He also added two run stops, per PFF.

Gordon gave up one big catch to Devonta Smith, but for the most part, the rest of the damage was done away from him. At least teams are not relentlessly picking on him anymore, either.

PFF also graded this out to be the second-best game of his career. The best game they have him down for is the Washington game and any fan that watched that one would agree.

Still, that was one of the games during the upswing of his rookie season, He took a bit of a downturn a few weeks later, but it appears as though the roller coaster is on the way back up.

This would be huge for the Chicago Bears, and confidence in Gordon. They are asking a lot of him, and he is not getting much help. The downturns are not too unexpected, but you want to the see ability to take the negatives, and grow from them. That is what you are getting with Gordon.

The growth has not been linear, and there have been steps back after steps forward. With that in mind, we will certainly be keeping an eye on how he plays.

Still, he started the season with a disastrous beginning. By the Washington and Patriots games, he found his footing, but he once again hit some issues in the following weeks. After getting injured, healthy, and having the bye week we could be seeing another ascent up.

If this can build into the offseason it will be a confidence booster.
