The Chicago Bears will take on the Buffalo Bills Saturday in a game that many fans will not have an interest in. They are playing a team far superior to them, it is a holiday, and the weather should be freezing. Where is the intrigue?

There are a few reasons for fans, beyond the diehards who watch every week, to tune into the team though.

5. Will Justin Fields break the rushing record by a quarterback?

Lamar Jackson has the record for most rushing yards in a season by a quarterback with 1,206. Justin Fields currently sits at 1,000. If anything, this will be something to watch. Justin Fields has acknowledged that he knows what the record is, and said that if he is this close, he might as well go for it. This is going to be fun to watch.

206 yards in three games in doable for Fields looking at his recent success, but that is going to take another highlight reel run or two. You have to be tuned in for that.

While Justin Fields missed a game, Lamar Jackson set the record before the 17th game was added, and he sat out in the final week as well. It would be cool if Fields did break the record in the next two games, but if he did it in week 18, after missing a game, it would still be a pretty fair accomplishment.

Justin Fields said he does not plan to get close to 1,000 rushing yards again, because he plans to be a more refined passer. Lamar Jackson broke the record in 2019, came close in 2020, then has not been close since. This is probably the best and last chance for Justin Fields to hold this record.

You might as well watch every week because of Justin Fields and his greatness, now you have something to countdown to as you watch.
