6 WRs the Chicago Bears can target via trade or in free agency

Chicago Bears Option No.6: Jakobi Meyers
One of the more underappreciated receivers in the league, Jakobi Meyers, has become an integral part of the New England Patriots passing attack. Since entering the NFL in 2019, Meyers has caught 220 passes for 2,594 yards. He has established himself as the go-to guy in New England’s offense and has missed a total of six games through his first four seasons.
Meyers has both the size and speed to thrive in multiple roles, and at 26 years old, he has a lot of football left in the tank. Further, New England’s lackluster passing attack, which has been limited by both quarterback and play calling this season, has undoubtedly held back Meyers and his possible production.
This wouldn’t be the flashiest signing, but Meyers would, at the very least, be another reliable target for Fields. The trio of Darnell Mooney, Claypool, and Meyers, would be a significant upgrade over the Mooney, Pringle, and Equanimeous St. Brown lineup Chicago had to open up the season. Additionally, the modest production would likely make Meyers a fairly affordable option, meaning the Bears would still have room to sign other key free agents.
Given the lack of talent in this year’s free agency class, the Bears may have to settle for a lower-profile player. Adding a receiver like Meyers would be beneficial to the team, but there needs to be an understanding that this signing alone may not be enough.
