The Detroit Lions still have a shot at the postseason, but their loss to Carolina last week really hurt their momentum and their playoff odds. They got shredded on the ground in the 37-23 loss and the Chicago Bears have to be licking their lips watching the film from that game.

Chicago doesn’t exactly want to win games, that’s not what’s best for them, but it might not be able to help itself if Justin Fields runs wild.

Let’s get into a couple of props for this important NFC North matchup in Detroit.

Best NFL Prop Bets for Bears vs. Lions

  • Bears 1st Half Total Touchdowns Over 1.5 (+148)
  • Justin Fields Over 75.5 Rush Yards (-115)
  • Detroit Lions 2nd Half -3.5 (+100)

Bears 1st Half Total Touchdowns Over 1.5 (+148)

The Lions just cannot stop the run and that’s exactly what Chicago wants to do. The Lions are allowing 145.9 rush yards a game and last week they gave up 24 points in the first half to Carolina. The Bears are 16th in first half offense and 25th in second half scoring. I expect offense to come pretty easy in the first half for Chicago. Justin Fields was bottled up last week by Buffalo, but Detroit doesn’t have Matt Milano.

Justin Fields Over 75.5 Rush Yards (-115)

Seven carries for 11 yards is not a Justin Fields stat line. If he gets 11 carries against Detroit he could have 150 yards and two touchdowns, that’s how flimsy the Lions’ run defense. They allowed the Panthers to run for 327 yards a week ago.

Fields was bottled up by Matt Milano spying him. Milano is one of the best middle linebackers in the NFL and his entire job was to limit Fields in the running game, for anyone else in football that’s easier said than done.

Detroit Lions 2nd Half -3.5 (+100)

Chicago does not want to win football games, as it could cost itself a chance at the No. 1 pick in the draft and possibly bump themselves outside the top 5 in these next two weeks.

If the Bears get out to a lead or are having success on offense in the first half, I’m pretty sure this coaching staff is smart enough to stop doing those things and find a way to lose this game in the second half.
