Chicago Bears Second Biggest Need: Major, major, defensive line help

One thing that was noticeably apparent in the Chicago Bears vs Lions game was how different of circumstances Jared Goff and Justin Fields were in while in the pocket. Goff was kept clean all day and was able to deliver clean balls in a clean pocket due to the Bears’ non-existent pass rush. Which has been a very common theme in these Bears’ games this season.

The Chicago Bears rank dead last in the NFL with only 20 sacks and their leading sack artist is their safety, Jaquan Brisker. Having a safety leading your team is utterly ridiculous and unheard of. Right now the Bears’ defensive line is the major Achilles heel of their defense right now and general manager Ryan Poles should be looking for at least two big additions to that side of the line. In fact, they might need four new starters for 2023.

Trevis Gipson and Justin Jones are currently leading the Bear’s defensive line in sacks with only three sacks in 16 games each. Both had a sack vs the Lions and neither prevented the Lions from converting a first down on those drives.
